Denison Arts Council - 517 Gallery Call for Artists
517 Gallery operates under the umbrella of the Denison Arts Council, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, development, and support of the arts in North Texas area.
The Denison Arts Council is dedicated to the promotion, development, and support of the visual, musical, physical, and literary arts in the North Texas area in order to serve the needs of all citizens through participation, exposure, and educational opportunities.
517 Gallery offers artists the opportunity to be represented at our gallery located in downtown Denison, Texas. This call is for individual or co-artists selling their original artwork in various mediums. For more information, see eligible media categories. No dealers, proxies, agents, or representatives are permitted. Participating Artists are required to deliver and assist with the installation of their art and participate in mutually agreed upon volunteer activities.
ELIGIBILITY:
This call is open to all area artists, art faculty and students at colleges, universities, and high school art students in their junior or senior year.
Artists may apply at any time. Work is accepted, shown, and rotated out at regular intervals, allowing the gallery to exhibit multiple artists.
ELIGIBLE MEDIA includes paintings | sculptures | photography | prints | textile | illustrations
Artists interested in applying may submit in more than one media category.
Applications are free. The Denison Arts Council accepts a 20% commission for sold artworks. Funds received are dedicated to funding art scholarships.
Artists may submit up to three images. Please note that our gallery space is limited, maximum size limit for 2D is 45 X 45 inches.
Images should clearly represent the quality and style of an artist's body of work.
Please complete the application fully, including the artist statement, process, edition size, and information about the images submitted.
Applications will be reviewed by a jury. Accepted artists will be contacted with more information regarding contract terms, installation date and exhibition terms.
GALLERY COMMITTEE REVIEW:
The artwork is considered solely on the images submitted – high-quality photos are recommended.
The Artist Statement should describe material and technique that explains the body of work well AND a value range for the artist's work.
Artists may be waitlisted due to rotation schedule and gallery space.
Decisions by the Committee are final.

If you have a website with images of current work, please include the link as well.
NOTIFICATION:
Artists are reviewed and juried on a rotating basis.
Work is accepted, shown, and rotated out at regular intervals, allowing the gallery to exhibit multiple artists.
